Sticky Fingers Cooking is Now in East Seattle

Meet the franchise owners of Sticky Fingers Cooking serving the eastside of Seattle, Washington!

Sticky Fingers Cooking is now available in the east Seattle, Washington area with franchise owners Sergio Victorio Queija and his wife, Priscilla Portocarrero Corcuera.

“We wanted to have our own business several years ago,” Sergio explains. “This year, a very good friend who has known us for years, sent us the information about the Sticky Fingers Cooking franchise opportunity and since the very beginning, we loved it!”

The couple and their two teenage daughters–Shaya, 17, and Illika, 16–live in Sammamish, Washington about 30 miles west of Seattle. The family is from Lima, Peru, and have also lived in Bogota, Colombia.

“We are all from Peru and that is why we have a cuisine culture at home,” Sergio says. “We love to cook, especially Peruvian food!”

From Traditional to Trying Something New

Much like moving to a new country and trying new tastes, this family was ready to take on business ownership after years in other careers: Sergio, 47, is a computer science engineer with over 22 years of experience in B2B (business-to-business) enterprise marketing and sales; Priscilla, 46, is a psychologist who also teaches Spanish at a local elementary school.

“We love the concept, we love the franchise, we love to work with children, and more importantly we love the idea of having our own business that can impact several lives in a positive way,” Priscilla says. “This franchise is unique for us because it is a mixture of our individual passions and as a couple: passion for food and passion for kids! We both love to teach, and we love to share our culture, that is a unique opportunity that we can do with this Sticky Fingers Cooking franchise!”

Sergio describes Sammamish as being part of one of the biggest metro areas in the Pacific Northwest that is attracting families thanks to its proximity to a new technology hub for international businesses. “It is safe and a very good place to live with a family,” he says.

“Sergio and Priscilla bring something special to Sticky Fingers Cooking with their international palates, experience working with kids, and business savvy,” says Erin Fletter, founder and CEO of Sticky Fingers Cooking. “They will probably be teaching me and the team about Peruvian food and business as they ramp up their Sticky Fingers Cooking East Seattle territory!”

In addition, Seattle has a special place in Erin’s heart. “My Mom was from Seattle and I still have beloved family on Bainbridge Island,” she shares. “I am so honored and proud that Sergio and Priscilla are bringing Sticky Fingers Cooking to a city that I have a deep personal connection with!”

A Taste for Business Ownership

Sergio says he and Priscilla already have a favorite Sticky Fingers Cooking recipe–the mango chutney–and plans to introduce the team to their specialities from back home.

“We always love Peruvian cuisine,” he says. “We are Peruvians, we love food, our culture is related to food, that is the circle of every social aspect of our lives. And of course, we love to cook as well, since we like very good food! Also, Peruvian culture is represented by their food, so when we share the food that we love, we are sharing the culture that we love!”

Among the 3,000 and growing global recipes that Erin has created for Sticky Fingers Cooking are some Peruvian ones, such as Cinnamon Peruvian Churro Bites + Machu Picchu Bananas + Ancient Inca Chocolate Sauce and Peruvian Mango Ceviche Cups + Kid-Made Totopos (Tortilla Chips!) + Mighty Mango Agua Fresca. “There will be more to come soon,” Erin says.
